The group returned to attempting to track the minotaur.
Suddenly we saw a basilisk. The creature was 14 foot long and had the ability to turn us to stone. We hid. At that point a wolf went racing by, distracting the creature.
A human ranger, Malith, introduced himself. Then we all fled to get away from the basilisk. Malith successfully lead us back to the actual minotaur tracks. (It turns out, we had been inadvertently tracking the basilisk instead.) Then the wolf joined us. It turned out, it was Malith’s wolf, Jarvis.
We all liked Malith and Jarvis. They seem like useful folk.
We moved on to a more rocky terrain with less trees. This is where we made camp. Peter took first watch. He woke us almost immediately because of a strange, droning noise. It turned out to be a large, flying insect.
4 giant wasps attacked our camp. They had an 18 foot wingspan. Early, in the battle, Peter jumped in front of Ember, getting stung by one of the giant wasps, and possibly saving her life. Due to his injury, he went into a coma. There was a long and fraught battle. We were able to save Peter.
After this the heroes took 2 rests.
Arsene gathered 4 rations worth of meat and 13 doses of poison from the wasp corpses. However, since he has no vials, he was able to save the doses in fabric which will be ruined after the poison is used.
