The adventure resumed with several peaceful days of travel. Then a wheel broke so take caravan took a break. The adventures wandered off and found a perfect campsite.
The next day the caravan resumed. We approached Northgate and we’re close enough to see a beautiful Tower.
Then we noticed someone running at us in a panic. Suddenly a monster jumped out of the earth and attacked him, biting off a limb.
Maylith, Arson, and Peter attacked the monster. Ember and Brahi helps the man in order to keep him from bleeding to death. Once the man was saved, they also joined the fight.
Eventually, after a long and dangerous battle, the heroes killed the monster. The entire caravan cheered.
We checked on the man. His name was Vara. He was traumatized but survived.
Mayleth and arson made attempts to bring the body of the monster back. Eventually they decided to leave it for now.
At this point we were about 3 miles to town. The caravan moved on. We camped about a half mile from Northgate and arrived the next day.
Northgate was a beautiful city. The oldest buildings were elven and the newer buildings were human constructed but had an elven influence to them. We could see the woods of Westwood from town. The city was known for its colleges, experts, and libraries.
The heroes learn that the king of the area was Uldred. His wizard was Necrotha. There is a group called the anointed in this area. They are Necrotha’s handpicked devotees.
We are paid $150 gold pieces each. We also received diamond earrings which we sold for 90 gold pieces each bringing the total to 240 gold pieces each. (Ferris made a note of this on the top of Ryan’s character sheet.)
We also received a drought of courage. And a gem called the wisp unseen, which can turn someone temporarily invisible with limitations such as if you attack someone. It takes D4 days to recharge.
We argued over who gets to hold the stuff.
