The heroes decided that for now, Peter is holding the wisp unseen and Brahi is carrying the draught of courage.
Everyone bought horses. We looked for work but did not immediately find any. We found lodging in an in called elf home. In that in, we met a well-dressed skorn.
Brahi begin sweating and felt very worn down. We found out he had a wasting illness called filth fever. He has temporarily lost one strength. Ember went into town and got him herbs and he is taking a couple days of bed rest to recover from the illness.
At dinner, people were saying that the anointed were increasing their activity and seem to be looking for something. They travel in groups of three and ware red cloaks. They’re generally Marshall or cultist types.
The town guard tells us not to get mixed up with the anointed and necrotha. There have been strange edicts coming down recently including harsher punishments and a curfew after 9:00. There is no longer a night shift for the town guard. Instead the anointed are patrolling the city at night. Several people have gone missing.
Mayleth suggested we could try to capture and torture a member of the anointed for information. Ember and Arson, being rogues, went out and attempted to find the anointed while being stealthy and undetected.
They did find a group of three anointed. It looked like two guards and a magic user. They would walk to the crossroads and the magic user would hold their lantern up high and the flame would point in One direction and that is where they would walk next.
Ember got caught and attempted to bluff but then ran. However she was captured. Arson used the wisp unseen and followed the anointed to the building where they took Ember. He made it back to the main group to tell them what happened. They decided the best plan was to rescue her in the morning. He also handed the whispun scene back to Peter for safekeeping until it is recharged.
Meanwhile, Ember regained consciousness and was able to untie herself. Her weapons are gone but she still has her lock picks in her boots. She put out the torch in her room and used it as a club to fight her guard and began exploring the building trying to find an exit.
She found some offices which she quickly passed by, trying to escape. She finally did find an exit but it appeared to be heavily guarded and as she was undetected she went back to explore the offices.
